City of Sioux City Neighborhood Services
Welcome to Neighborhood Services! Neighborhood Services is located on the 3rd Floor of City Hall in Room 305. Our goal is to provide decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanded economic development opportunities. Working within these goals we create programs that provide affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and services to low-income and special needs populations.
Coordinated Entry
If you are experiencing homelessness and in need of housing, the first step is to contact the Institute for Community Alliances, Coordinated Entry. You can either call them at 712-301-7427 or 712-223-9766 or stop by 1309 Pierce Street. Their walk-in hours are Mondays and Wednesday from 9am to Noon and Tuesdays and Thursdays from Noon to 3pm. They will conduct an assessment and determine which program would best benefit your household and a referral will be made to that program as soon as an opening is available.
Sioux City Community Assistance
Sioux City Community Assistance is a nonprofit agency in partnership with the City of Sioux City with a mission to provide outreach to homeless individuals and families, eliminate barriers to housing, and make the transition into housing sustainable and long lasting, and provide case management. When an individual or family is newly housed, they typically have nothing except what will fit in a backpack - no bed, no furniture, no dishes, no cleaning supplies, no food. Our goal is to provide new or like new essential items in an effort to make their housing journey successful. We rely on donations from the community to make their apartment a "home."
